Get in on the µSOHO PBX RC 1 Testing
Release Candidate 1 for the Protel PBX µSOHO™ Model
The new µSOHO PBX Model will be available to our reseller partners and non-partners for testing beginning in December. This exciting new product will include many of the high-end features and functions found on all of our bigger models, in an amazingly tiny package. It is designed for end-user self-installation using a wizard application, or assisted installation through one of our VAR par
tners. This product is aimed at the home/small office market, and it will support at least 7 and perhaps 10 SIP extensions. During testing we will be looking for beta partners that can help us with the functionality of the installation wizard as well as determining how many concurrent calls the PBX will be able to handle. Direct support to end users for this new product will not be included in the purchase price, which opens the door for VAR’s and partners to generate revenue by providing installation assistance and ongoing support to end users that request it. This product will be sold directly to end users as well as through our reseller partner network.
Yes it’s really really small
If you look, it’s way smaller than even our Protel PBX SOHO model. This unit packs one heck of a punch for such a small size. Can you tell how small it is? Look at the network and USB connectors and that should give you an idea of how small it is. The price point was raised because we decided to use a case manufactured in the United States and not one made in China. Yes, we believe in bringing jobs back to America!
Release date expected December 17th, 2012
You’ll need the following to use the unit:
- An HDMI cable and HDMI monitor or an RCA Cable
- An Android tablet capable of using HDMI is also acceptable for testing
- You may also connect the µSOHO PBX using an RCA cable to a video device.
- Standard SIP phones
- Grandstream, Polycom, Yealink, RCA, and others
SCCP (Cisco) interoperability for the µSOHO PBX will not be available with the unit. If you wish to have Cisco Functionality, you will need to move to a Protel SOHO Model C.
Non-Partners can test the functionality of our Protel PBX
The µSOHO PBX provides both a Wizard and also a complete Protel PBX interface. The same interface in our SOHO and up to Enterprise units is included in the µSOHO PBX Model. You may use either the Wizard or the Protel PBX interface.
The Protel PBX interface is intended for telephone system installers and IT companies familiar with telephony technology. The Wizard is intended for a consumer self installation.
Either way you configure the µSOHO as a Protel PBX or using the simple Wizard.
You’ll get updates freely during the release candidates and then 3 months of updates after the full rollout of the µSOHO. You’ll be able to support the µSOHO and the Protel PBX.
It’s made in the USA
We know not many people care if a product is manufactured in the United States or another country. We will proudly manufacture this unit, as with the others, in Nampa, Idaho in the United States. Located in the heartland of the country, this will be one product we believe can beat the foreign competition with innovation and excellent price points.
Our case is manufactured in the US in Ohio just outside of Cleveland!
